Charlotte North Carolina— Restaurant Choices keep growing and growing!

There are times when all I want is a a burger or sub and wash it down with my favorite soft drink.  Then there are times when I have to make a tough choice and select a place to dine.  So what am I saying?  Is it a tough choice because there are so few?  To the contrary, there are so many fine places to dine.  The list of types, styles and settings continues to grow.  Growing up on Long Island in the sixty’s we had our favorites or should I say my parents did!

The past 25 years have brought us far more than one would have expected.  Charlotte has grown into a world class city in many ways and dining out is one of them.  My wife and I even argue as to where to go for supper.

Do you have a favorite dining experience?  Are you moving here or visiting on business or pleasure and looking for that special place to dine?  I’m happy to make recommendations if you like.  Comments are appreciated.

I’m wondering if there is ANY restaurant in the Charlotte metro area which doesn’t allow children. We would love to go someplace (that doesn’t cost a fortune like the McNinch House) where kids are not allowed. I bet we’d eat there every weekend if there were such a place. Thanks.

Good question. Personally, I am not aware of any ‘child free’ restaurants in Charlotte, but I would support them. Don’t get me wrong - I have 3 kids myself (14, 18, 19), but sometimes I’d love a nice dinner without toddlers at the table next door. Are there no more babysitters in the area? I don’t know if it’s a Charlotte trend, or a national trend, but it seems like everyone wants to bring their children everywhere these days.

I would suggest that some area restaurants offer child-free nights once in a while. How about it restaurants? Just as I suspect that non-smoking will attract non-smokers, maybe a child-free night would be unique enough to bring in some more business!

Got something to say?
