Charlotte is also halfway between the northeastern states and the sunny climate of Florida. Many residents choose to spend summers here in Charlotte and winters further south. Charlotte has four distinct seasons, with gorgeous fall color and the occasional snowfall in winter – which usually lasts only a few days before it melts away – no weeks and weeks of slush and dirty snow.

North Carolina is a very large state going east to west, with quite a variety of terrain and climate. The mountainous west features some of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi in the Appalachian Mountain Range.
